We are busy getting ready for a nice feast! We have 24 guests coming. I'm most looking forward to Wednesday. My Mom, sister, Beth, Sister -in-law Mel and our teens are getting together to do some cooking. I love the passing on the torch of the traditional meal. I have to admit that this year we are shaking the traditional tree a bit.
Our menu:
Mexican cinnamon pumpkin soup
chipotle hummus w/ pita chips
Rita's pumpkin cheeseball
2 15 lb turkeys with herbed butter
1 8 lb. ham with Paula Welker's pineapple glaze
Ada's cornbread sage stuffing (tripled!)
Beverly's sweet potatoe (curse you Dan Quail) casserole (doubled!)
Standard mashed potatoes
Garlic-herbed mashed potatoes
Melinda's corn souffle
Melinda's broccoli casserole
Gravy
Bob Evan's rolls
Aunt Flora's Peach Cobbler
Janet's Choc. Cake
Hilary's turtle pumpkin pie
Jake's pumpkin pie
Beth's choc. and banana pies
Oh my! No cranberries?
We are looking forward to a wet/snowy evening!
I hope you have a great time with family and give God thanks for what he has done!
