I have two special guys that I am praying for right now.
One is the son of my friend Tammy, Asher. The whole family is traveling to Israel for Asher's Bar Mitzvah. Tammy gets the chance to stand in Jerusalem on Christmas eve. She has promised me she'd take a minute to savor the moment for me. Their family is doing something very thoughtful and cool for others. ( They are some of the most thoughtful people I know!) They are visiting the Western Wall and are asking for prayers to be put in the wall from friends and family. It's very exciting for our family to know that the Koreman's are placing our prayer in the wall. We found it hard to come up with a "family prayer" that didn't say "The Koreman's safety"! It was almost like a family mission statement! I know Tammy is so anxious about the flight and their safety. Please pray for her and her family and that Asher will have a beautiful Bar Mitzvah. This summer we visited the oldest synagogue in the Western Hemisphere (See picture) while in Curacao. Tammy I'd love to see pictures of you from Israel!
My adopted child , Sarvesh, is leaving for a month to return to India. His grandmother has cancer and it doesn't sound like a good prognosis. His grandmother visited a while back and would slowly walk down the street in her beautiful gowns. She didn't speak English, but her smile transcended any language. It's where Sarvesh and his mother get their rich coloring and big smile. I am so glad they are packing up and being with her right now. I can't imagine how hard that is for them to be separated during this time. He's going to the South western tip of India. Please help pray for their safety and for his grandmother.
