Help Me Get Ideas
I'm frustrated (I make this face when I'm frustrated) and thought I'd throw this out to someone who stumbled to my blog, which is likely to be very few.
I went to Haiti. Fell in love with Etienne and Betty Prophete's Mission/School. I really want to support it and they really need money for transport. We had our hopes way too high that our church could sponsor it for VBS, but they are 3 years deep into that promise to other worthy organizations. Our church is so large they can't even begin to sponsor fund raisers, like bake sales, as they would be pulled into too many directions. I understand that. They did help by donating $150 to both Jim and I for our trip, which was a huge help. I'm concerned about the HCM future without this transport need filled, and it can't wait 3 years.
SO - where do I go? What are my options to help raise (not raise the whole amount by yourself Karen!) $20,000 for a much needed pickup truck for the Haiti Christian Mission? Transport is and was a huge issue for our team and for future teams.
Jim jokingly said "If all 30 of us stay home and just donate the money we'd be able to donate $46,000!" I thought that made sense. Jim had to say repeatedly "I was joking. I want to go back!" I said "No 30 new people can go!" No dice, we're going back.
Do you have an idea? I am not asking for money (yet.....wink) just ideas.
Also that photo was my stupid human trick for the villagers, now it has morphed into my frustration face. I have never had a photo match my insides so well. I like it.

I had this thought on my mind but Hucklebuck said it best :
His blog says: This morning I received an email from my pastor. Some "unexpected" and "generous" donations came in this week. With those donations we will be able to pay off our debt before year-end. God is capable of meeting our needs. I know that. But I often forget (or choose not to believe).
Here's his blog

I say:
I keep thinking the money is ours and we have control. Isn't that silly? Now I can quit feeling like a woodpecker w/ no beak.
