I recently had this thought of why I am glad God is God and I am not. I think I would walk around and smack people on the back of the head when they screw up - like a classic Italian Momma. My favorite example of this is Kevin Kline's Momma in the movie "I Love You To Death" w/ Tracy Ullman. He's laying in the hospital bed w/ a gunshot wound to the head. She is faithfully sitting by his side, but she is upset w/ his infidelity. As he sleeps every now and then she leans over and smacks his head, then hugs him. He drifts back to sleep and she whacks/hugs again. I had this thought yesterday morning and chuckled. Last night I got whacked in the head....by an Italian Poppa.

That quote is sadly, and unfortunately, true. Most of us care more about being popular and polite than helping others, and starving families in third world countries.
